About
A hedge fund process, on campus.
FHFG was founded to bring the hedge fund investment process to Fairfield University and give students practical exposure to alternative investing.

Closing the gap between the classroom and the decision.
Coursework teaches the tools. It rarely puts a student in the position of owning a view, writing it down, and defending it in front of people who will look for the weakest assumption first.
FHFG is organized around that gap. Every idea moves along one path — identify, research, analyze, build a thesis, pitch, debate, decide, monitor, review — and members learn the discipline by doing each step, not by hearing about it.
Beyond long-only investing.
Alternative investing brings its own vocabulary: shorting, hedging, catalysts, capital structure, risk budgeting. FHFG treats these as skills to be practiced with real research and a simulated portfolio.
Not a generic finance club.
No performance theater
We do not report returns, AUM, or track records. The portfolio is simulated and educational.
No passive membership
Members produce work: coverage, models, memos, and pitches that get challenged.
No prerequisites
Every major and every experience level. Curiosity and follow-through matter more than a résumé.

Invest
Beyond long-only investing.
Long/short framing, position sizing, risk, and simulated portfolio construction — the mechanics of how capital is actually allocated and defended.
Analyze
From idea to investment decision.
Company and industry analysis, valuation, and thesis development done with primary sources and explicit assumptions.
Connect
Proximity is an advantage.
Fairfield's alumni network and Northeast location place students near hedge funds, asset managers, and allocators across the industry.
Get Involved
Learn how investors think.
Open to every Fairfield student, regardless of major or prior investing experience.
